Hormonal Acne

Fluctuating hormone levels causes the skin to become inflamed and red spots appear on the neck, chest, back, and face. Hormonal blemishes are caused by puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. These hormones can cause excess oil production, skin cells to become clogged up in hair follicles, and skin inflammation.

Vitamins for hormonal breakouts are effective when treating this type of acne as they control our hormones from making our skin oily and causing blemishes.

Bacterial Acne

Bacterium or P. acnes is another type which can also be caused by hormones. Bacterial pimples due to oil buildup called sebum and dead skin cells can become infected and cause inflammation forming even more severe blemishes like cysts which when popped can lead to scarring.

Rosacea

Rosacea is usually characterized by redness on the cheeks, nose, and forehead. It can be caused by numerous different things including dehydration, alcohol, spicy foods, sun exposure, and extreme weather.

Grades

Doctors categorize different types of blemishes into four different grades ranging from mild to severe. They are classified by these characteristics:

  • if there are inflamed comedones (white and black heads)
  • how frequently breakouts are occurring
  • if any, how much inflammation there is
  • which areas of the body are affected

Knowing the grade will help you decide which kind of treatment will be effective for you. Usually breakouts can be treated with over the counter products like benzoyl peroxide and Acnetame which are the best vitamins for hormonal breakouts for but more severe pimples and cysts should be looked at by a dermatologist.
